Your day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech will begin with a trip to the plains of Haouz towards the village of Chichaoua where you stop to have a coffee before continuing to Sidi Mokhtar. On your way, you will cross the argan forest, where you will see goats climbing argan trees. Discover how argan oil is extracted (also called liquid gold or Moroccan oil), visit a local women's cooperative and discover how some fine cosmetic products are made locally from rich argan oil.

From there, we will continue our day trip to Essaouira and your arrival; you can explore the beautiful city with pleasure:

From experience, we can say that exploring Essaouira by your own means is easy: the inhabitants are very friendly, the medina is quite small (compared to other old Moroccan cities) and its streets are in order. You certainly do not need a guide for visiting the city. If you insist on getting one, your driver will help you hire a local guide for the tour.

In Essaouira, you will visit the old Portuguese casbah Secala, from there, you will explore the port and see the fishermen on the boats selling fresh fish and seafood. After that, you will pass by the famous place Moulay el Hassan for enter the old medina, discover the narrow streets and visit many art galleries. Afterwards, enjoy a fish lunch at a local restaurant or return to the harbor to pick your fresh fish and cook it in a small local restaurant.

At the end of the afternoon, return to Marrakech and your day trip to Essaouira will end with your return to your hotel or your riad.
