Ouarzazate also known as The Desert Gate is characterized by its variety of landscapes, the hospitality of its people, the richness and diversity of its folklore and the architectural authenticity of its habitat.

Ouarzazate lies in the southern part of Morocco. It derives its name from a Berber phrase meaning "without noise or without confusion". It is often the favourite stop for the tourists on their way to the Sahara Desert.

Ouarzazate is booming on the plane of cinema as its region offers a natural landscape of great beauty for the shootings that makes it a great attraction for the main producers and directors of Film and other Hollywood films. This city has several film studios, where many well-known feature films including some of them Oscar winners have been filmed. (Lawrence of Arabia, Kundun, Gladiator, Asterix and Obelix, tea in the Sahara, Babel ...) The city has a total of three film studios and a museum.
